The European Commission has mobilised a further EUR 122 million from its research and innovation programme, 2020 horizonfor urgent coronavirus research. The new call for expressions of interest follows the Commission's commitment of EUR 1.4 billion to the global response to the coronavirus crisis initiative launched by President Ursula von der Leyen on 4 May 2020.
EU I + I actions
This new call joins a series of research and innovation actions funded by the Union to combat the coronavirus. The measure complements previous actions to develop diagnostics, treatments and vaccines by strengthening manufacturing capacity and implementing readily available solutions to respond quickly to pressing needs.
